Kelim-Sirjan Carpets |
This absolutely beautiful carpet is a modern development of Iranian artists. Each piece combines the knotting technique of Gabbeh carpets with the weaving technique of Kelim carpets so that the connoisseurs of both carpet varieties get their money’s worth. In Iran these carpets are called “Nim-Baff”, that means “half-knotted”. These carpets were made originally in Sirdjan in the province Kerman by nomads, who also produce the popular Gabbeh carpets. The craftsmen must take particular care when in the middle of a Kelim weave shall be a flawlessly straight hand-knotted row, that is neither lop-sided nor warped. Many customers already fell in love with the results, namely aesthetically delightful and technically perfect carpets, and they prefer them to many fully-knotted carpets. Try out some Kelim Sirjan of smaller dimensions and see for yourself how you and your customers also fall in love with a carpet |
